Project Manager

DUTIES
- Be the liaison between the creatives and the client
- Lead team meetings to ensure productivity

Graphic Designer
JOB DESCRIPTION
Graphic designers come to work ready to launch their creative ideas. They design anything clients request. This could mean designing logos, motion graphics, infographics, posters and everything else that helps fulfill client needs. Our designers strive to find the best, most creative ways to market our clients both in print and on social media platforms.
REQUIREMENTS
- Provide an online portfolio link within the job description
- Excelled in COMM 130 or ART 130
- Excelled in COMM 305: Vector Graphics (preferred but not required)
- Exceptional skills in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
- Great taste and a strong sense of design, typography, color, layout, and illustration
- Proficient in Adobe After Effects, InDesign, Dimension, and XD (preferred but not required)
- Passion for creativity, finishing projects, and collaboration
DUTIES
- Produce multiple assets for posters, motion graphics, social media visuals, conference booths, and more

Video Producer
JOB DESCRIPTION Video producers possess a passion for bringing things to life. With an eye for detail, our video team can envision their ideas in full clarity and utilize their extensive skills and know-how to execute them. Video producers are organized and productive while they confidently handle multiple projects. From script writing and planning to shooting and editing, our video producers experience every aspect of production and walk away with invaluable expertise in their field.
REQUIREMENTS
- Taken COMM 130 and COMM 260
- Familiar with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve
- Experience producing video content
- Time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail

DUTIES
- Shoot and edit interviews, “B-roll” supplemental footage, advertisements, and short narratives
- Record high-quality audio (dialogue, natural sound, room tone, supplemental sound (“foley” or “SFX”)

Copywriter
JOB DESCRIPTION
A copywriter’s passion lies in writing creative and original content. You oversee all copy Soapbox produces, including but not limited to: scripts, social media content, blog posts, print ads and brochures. Your head is full of innovative and unique ideas ready to be shared with your peers. You enjoy editing your peers’ writing pieces and providing tips for them to consider implementing.

- Impeccable spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills
- A creative mind that can think through problems
- Brilliant ideas that showcase themselves in your writing
- Ability to write copy that captivates, interests and impacts anyone who reads it
DUTIES
- Write, edit and rewrite all copy produced for clients

Researcher / Marketer
JOB DESCRIPTION
Researchers and marketers are the lifeblood of this industry. Not only will they help address client needs and find a target audience, but they also provide our creatives with in-depth research about our various projects, helping them to know the facts of the products and services we promote.
REQUIREMENTS
- Taken COMM 280 or Math 221
- Capable of working independently and with a team
- Detail oriented
- Experience with Qualtrics
DUTIES
- Conduct surveys and focus groups
- Prepare and give presentations about results to clients or other departments
- Learn the basics of market research
- Utilize programs such as Qualtrics, SPSS, and Excel
- Work well in a team environment

Who can work At Soapbox?
We invite all BYU-Idaho students that have experience in design, video, copywriting, marketing, research, or project management to apply. We need driven students who have a passion for communication and are interested in working in an agency setting. If you are skilled and interested in gaining more experience, we encourage you to apply!
Are there classes I need to take before applying?
Like any job, there are certain qualifications needed for the position, which vary from department to department. At a minimum, it’s expected that you’ve taken introductory courses in the field you intend to work in.
Is Soapbox a class?
Soapbox is a campus job. You can also receive 1 practicum credit each semester you’re involved. Enrollment in the course isn’t required to be a Soapbox employee.
When does Soapbox meet?
Soapbox meets at the following times every week:
Monday 2:30 – 5:00pm
Wednesday 2:30 – 5:00pm
Friday 2:30 – 4:00pm
How many hours will I work?
You will spend 7.5 hours a week working in the office. You are responsible for getting your projects done by your set deadlines and have the flexibility to work up to 20 hours a week.
Do I get paid?
Yes.
Do I have to take Scroll before being in Soapbox?
You do not need to be involved with Scroll before joining Soapbox. Although they are both under the direction of I-Comm, they are separate entities and operate independently of each other.
Can I apply to Soapbox more than once?
As long as you are a student at BYU-Idaho, you can apply for the agency as many times as you want.
Is Soapbox Agency limited to the BYU-Idaho Campus?
Soapbox Agency is located on the BYU-Idaho campus, but most of our clients are off-campus entities located outside Rexburg, Idaho.
Are there other ways to be involved with Soapbox?
The Campaigns and Projects practicum (COMM 397R) is an opportunity to work alongside Soapbox employees and mentors on creative campaigns and competitions. It’s unpaid, but still a great chance for hands-on learning where you’ll be interacting directly with the Soapbox team. There are no prerequisites for enrollment, so anybody can get involved.
